Japanese Kojitsunagi Dial

$189

The Kojitsunagi pattern is like a kanji connection, bears the meaning of everlasting longevity as well as prosperity and happiness. The design of the dial is to incorporate the GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) function together with the yellow arrow GMT hand that showcases the Kojitsunagi pattern to signify good fortune. This pattern showcases the interlock of characters to stretch into infinity.

The GMT hand is inclusive with the purchase of Kojitsunagi dial.

    High quality, very nice design

The dial completely fits my needs. The color is darker than expected and looks black in many conditions but angle to the light and the green comes out. The contrast of the 24 hr markers and the matching gmt hand is great. Not sure about the lume. From the start I did not love the 12 indice * KOJITSUNAGI (T). It is large and incongruous with the rest of the markers. The price is a bit higher than I would typically like. In the past I have purchased good quality dials like this for 30% less. Given the quality and the uniqueness of this dial and many of your products I am happy to leave the review.

A lovely design with one big mistake

The overall design is lovely and I was sorely tempted to pick one up. However, the "T" index at the top is extremely off-putting; clearly it's intended to be a repeat of the kojitsunagi pattern, but it's the wrong shape. Kojitsunagi in Japanese means something like "linked character ko", with the ko in question being 工. It's not a T shape; it's more of a heavily serifed I. And that mistake makes the whole thing look goofy, like someone made the design without actually knowing the pattern.
